More Sheep
We are supposed to get an arctic front bringing very cold air and snow starting tomorrow. So, I took advantage of that to see if any animals had moved down from the high country. Sure enough... I found a whole bunch of Bighorn Sheep that were in the Rock Creek valley!! The light was very low, all shadows as the sun had gone behind the mountains that shoot up from this very narrow little valley. I shot these pics with my 150-500mm lens on a tripod. I still used image stabilization though at the 500mm setting. I added several pics to the web site from today's shoot in the Wildlife Gallery. Lots of sheep pics now in that gallery. Well I guess I will need to bundle up from now on as it seems old man Winter is on his way.

Before The Snow
Took a nice drive yesterday. Drove from Lolo Pass down to Elk Meadows Rd. on the logging roads. This was the last time this year cause it snowed pretty heavy up there today. Winter is coming early in a lot of places this year. Did not see any animals this trip but I saw two young moose bulls on this same road a week and a half ago. It's hunting season now so the animals are pretty cautious now. Pretty soon we will have snow down here in the valley. Time to get out the shovels!! Check out the pics on my website to see some of what I saw.
